WAHS Millionaire Singers Perform at the White House

Thirty-two members of the Williamsport Area High School Millionaire Singers performed at the White House on Saturday, Dec. 2, for holiday tourists.

Under the direction of Mr. Kent Weaver and Mr. Samuel Robinson, the group sang a medley of holiday tunes for about three hours in the East Wing of the presidential home, the longest performance stretch in the department’s nearly two-decade history of attending.

While this was the current group’s third consecutive year being invited to the White House, Weaver said this year marked the 14th time he’s taken students since he started doing so in the 1990s.

The choral director said high school ensembles are selected through an application process to perform at the annual function.

The community can see The Millionaire Singers, along with the rest of WAHS’s musical groups, perform at the 28th annual Holiday Concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, at the high school auditorium.
