Dads, Baseball and Ms. Hillary

Happy Father’s Day! Tip of the Webb Weekly cap to all the Dads out there and to everyone who provides Fatherly love and guidance.

The importance of having Dad there no matter the age of his son or daughter, could never be overstated. With all the world has to offer today, someone to wear the shoes – even if it isn’t a biological father, means more than I could ever write on these pages.

I was so very blessed to have my Dad for the years I did. A day doesn’t go by when I don’t think about him, miss him and wish he were here. Father’s Day is very difficult and I know many reading this feel the same way. The best way to honor his memory is to be the best father to his grandchildren and the best man I can be.

My sons Jimmy and Hunter are the greatest blessings of my life. Being their Father and watching them grow from holding them in my arms to becoming young men is truly amazing. I thank God every day for my boys and his Son. I ask for the wisdom to be a good Father and to look after Jimmy and Hunter.

God proved his unconditional love for us through Jesus Christ. Their relationship is the best Father/Son story ever written. All that is good was made possible by this. Give it some thought and just imagine what God was going through at the end of Jesus’s days here on earth. It adds special meaning to Happy Father’s Day.

Welcome to Bowman’s Boys of Summer. Crosscutter time is upon us. The City of Williamsport’s commitment to keep the sweet sound of the ball coming off a wood bat at the historic ballpark has not gone unnoticed to me.

Tip of my cap to Mayor Gabe Campana, the Chamber of Commerce, City Council and all that are involved in giving the grand old stadium a facelift and making it a more modern, fan friendly venue.

Get out and enjoy some great baseball without the high prices of a big league ballpark. Gabe Sinicropi always makes sure it is a fun filled evening. He is one of the best emcees I’ve come across at any ballpark. Say hello to my good friend Rhashan while you’re there. I guarantee the kids will have a great time.

Well, we talked about Father’s Day, baseball and not that I want to, I guess we should discuss Ms. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s historic week that was.

Ms. Clinton became the first woman to win party nomination for a shot at the Oval Office come November. The liberal media played this up like it was the greatest day since Mr. Obama became the first African-American President. “A day to be celebrated in American history,” one MSNBC regular said about Ms. Clinton.

Next up, the dog and pony show – Mr. Obama endorsing Ms. Clinton. “I don’t think there’s ever been someone so qualified to hold this office,” Mr. Obama stated. “I’m fired up, I can’t wait to get out there and campaign with Hillary,” he said later.

Folks, you just can’t make this stuff up. The worst President in American history endorsing the most unethical, scheming, corrupt, don’t befriend her or you’ll end up dead, in jail or locked up in the basement of the White House like Joe Biden, woman in American history. I would say criminal but that ain’t ever going to happen. I could make a list of a dozen scandals off the top of my head; anyone else would be wearing prison stripes, not Hillary.

Folks, I am not exaggerating, there are more people that have died mysterious deaths associated with William Jefferson Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton than you can shake a stick at. Outside the mainstream media it is actually referred to as ‘The Clinton Body Count.’

How about Mr. Obama’s endorsement? Now I know why our Country is heading to the abyss. How can Mr. Obama believe this completely ethically and morally bankrupt criminal is the most qualified candidate for President of the United States of America? I guess that says it all.

And then Mr. Obama can’t wait to hit the campaign trail for Ms. Clinton. Are you kidding me? With all the problems we have in our Nation you’re going out stumping for Hillary? And you’re arrogant and brazen enough just to come right out and announce it, wearing it like a liberal badge of honor!

Meanwhile back at the ranch Bernie Sanders came on board in support of Hillary after meeting with Barack. Well of course he does, where did you think he was going? It almost sounds like the beginning of a bad joke…

Hey, did you hear the one about the old white-haired socialist, the criminal wife of a former President that wants to be President and the Islamist President who campaigns for her while still in office…

Everyday Player

A couple years back I wanted a story on Coach Tom Gravish and his undefeated Jersey Shore Bulldogs. There was only one gentleman to reach out to – Mr. Bill Albright. Although he claimed to be retired, with a little coaxing, Mr. Albright gave me just the cover story I was looking for to honor the Orange and Black’s football resurgence.

Bill has been a freelance sports writer for 52 years. As for him retiring from covering area athletics, it was great to see him with pen and pad in hand at Lock Haven University baseball games this season. He has done a fantastic job over the years giving area athletes the press they deserve.

He is a legendary and honored sports writer by his peers and local community. He was the recipient of the PSAC George Heslip Award of Excellence for his coverage of the conference in the Sun Gazette, Sunday Grit and Lock Haven Express. Bill has also been elected to the PIAA District IV and the Eastern Wrestling League (NCAA Division I) Halls of Fame.

Mr. Albright retired from teaching at Jersey Shore High School after 31 years of service. He coached five different sports for the Bulldogs during his tenure. He has had a positive effect on so many folk’s lives with his dedication and passion to teaching, coaching and writing. He is truly one of the good guys.

He is a proud father of two, Kristi and Paul and grandfather of three, Paige, Natalie and Abigail who all go to Jersey Shore schools. Tip of the cap to you Bill and Happy Father’s Day!
