James L. Barr, 73, of Williamsport, died on Mar. 1, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1944 in Williamsport, the son of the late Arthur and Roxie (Flick) Barr.

In 1968, James started taking flying lessons and still maintained his pilot’s license.

James retired as owner of various automobile dealerships throughout Lycoming Co. He was a member of the Williamsport Country Club, Young Men’s Republican Club, Harmonia Club, and Keystone League. He enjoyed golfing and flying.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Ursula E. Olling; two sons, John J. (Shelly) Barr of State College and Jason A. (Michelle) Barr of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Raymond E. Barr of State College, and six grandchildren, Casey, Colin, Sofia, Elena, Ella, and Evyn.

A graveside service will be held 12 noon, Tuesday, Mar. 6 in Montoursville Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lycoming Co. SPCA, 2805 Reach Rd. Williamsport, PA 17701.
