Congratulations to ALL of the teams who made it to the 2026 Little League World Series. Kudos to you and your families. This is the best time of year as our lovely landscape provides the backdrop for an incredible sporting showcase. So, on behalf of those who permanently reside- WELCOME TO WILLIAMSPORT. I look forward to seeing the many faces. I sincerely hope you enjoy your stay. Lycoming County has so much to offer. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need any help finding a few things to do while you are in town. My son and I are always up for a fishing adventure.

I am a huge advocate of Little League Baseball. I am a proud graduate of the program. My experiences taught me a great deal. Many of us dreamed of playing in Williamsport. Very few get the opportunity. I played my ball at Boulder- Arrowhead in Billings, Montana. My family moved to PA after our season. We had a great squad, and we were nipped in the State Tournament. My alma mater still has a solid reputation. They have been so close. One of our rivals is in the Mountain Championship. I am hoping that Big Sky Little League will punch their ticket this weekend. My All-Star jacket is still in the closet.

Jensen and several others are so lucky. He has played in both stadiums. Little League reaches out to the local teams to play during their umpire schools and evaluations. My son swung for the Volunteer fences when Hepburn Lycoming won the 2021 District Championship. I was super jealous. Take tons of pictures. Jensen and his mates stole the hearts of many. They made it all the way to the State Semis. We will never forget that historic run. I still get goosebumps when we look at the scrapbooks. The posts show up on our Facebook memories. Being so close has only sparked our interest. Jensen and I still watch the regional tournaments.

My father-in-law, Mike Coledo, also loves this time of year. He has already reserved his seats for the downtown parade. I am not kidding. Those are his chairs on the corner of 4th and Elmira. I will have to do some research, but Mike has been heading to the games for many decades. His two grandsons are growing up. I don’t know if they will tag along. The boys always made out like bandits. Pappy always picked up the hefty tab in the souvenir tent. Jensen has an impressive collection of hats and jerseys. Mike has made many friendships. The same families come to Williamsport every year. Mike does a great job welcoming the world.

Yes. I sometimes chime in with a different perspective. USABAT, MLB CLASSIC, BRONZE STATUES, and the DISGRUNTLED LOTTERY. I sell free papers. My friends from South Side know that I am a huge fan. These next few weeks put our area on the global stage. It is a big deal. Huge. You have no idea how many folks tune into the games. I always marvel at these reactions. WHERE ARE YOU FROM? Williamsport, PA. IS THAT NEAR PHILADELPHIA? No. North Central PA. It is the home of Little League Baseball. OH I WATCH IT EVERY YEAR. THAT IS ON OUR BUCKET LIST. YOU ACTUALLY LIVE THERE?

Please enjoy the 2026 Little League World Series. I encourage my fellow residents to be extra courteous and warm. Lycoming County is a beautiful and special place for many reasons. Little League Baseball is on our pedestal, and they should be applauded. Let’s show the world what we are all about. Play ball. Cheers.
