I am almost a full year into writing these weekly articles.
Honestly, it was something I was not sure about doing at first. When I felt God calling me to start writing and brought the idea to my wife, I think we were both a little unsure.
Would people read them? Would I run out of things to write about? Would anyone care what I had to say?
But I am glad I listened to that calling.
Writing these articles has become something I genuinely enjoy, and I am incredibly thankful for all of you who read them, share them, and reach out with positive feedback. It means more than you know. Some of you stop me in public, some send me messages, and some mention an article weeks later. Every time, it means a lot to me.
As I look back on the past year, I thought it would be fun to revisit some of my favorite articles and the lessons that came from them. If any of these sound interesting, you can find them at webbweekly.com.
October 8, 2025 – “Writer’s Block”
In one of my first articles, I talked about God doing new things in our lives and how we should not be afraid to trust Him. I wrote about Isaiah 43:18-19 and how God can take the toughest, driest, and most barren places in our lives and turn them into something fruitful.
November 12, 2025 – “Godparents”
This article was about the importance of Godparents and how thankful I am for mine. I also announced that my buddy Avery would be Beau’s Godfather. Since then, Lauren and I have also been blessed to choose Emily Tripoli as his Godmother.
December 17, 2025 – “Pride in Yourself”
I talked about taking pride in yourself, your appearance, and showing respect to both yourself and others. I still enjoy putting together a good outfit and looking sharp.
January 14, 2026 – “Purpose > Opinion”
This remains one of my favorite articles. I wrote about how God has a purpose for all of us and how the opinions of others should not distract us from that purpose.
January 21, 2026 – “Thankful and Grateful”
This was a special one. I got to write about welcoming Beau into the world and becoming a dad. Looking back now, it is hard to believe how much he has grown already.
March 4, 2026 – “Lord Give Me a Sign”
This article was about receiving a sign from God when I least expected it. I was facing a difficult decision, and the answer I received was not necessarily the one I wanted, but it was the one I needed.
March 11, 2026 – “From Not Wanting to Go to Never Wanting to Leave”
This one was about trusting your parents. Sometimes the things we resist the most end up shaping us the most.
April 22, 2026 – “Just Wait Until You Have Kids”
I challenged the idea that having kids means you stop investing in yourself. Your kids deserve the best version of you possible.
May 13, 2026 – “Blessed Beyond the Finish Line”
This one was about gratitude. I shared how much it meant to me when my parents dropped everything and traveled to Pittsburgh with me so I could run a half marathon. I also talked about how God was alive in Pittsburgh that weekend.
May 27, 2026 – “Make Your Kids Play Sports”
I still stand by this one. Sports teach accountability, discipline, teamwork, confidence, and how to handle failure. Most kids will never become professional athletes, but every kid will become an adult.
June 3, 2026 – “Trusted with Much”
One of my most recent favorites. I had the incredible honor of officiating my friend Isaac’s wedding. It taught me how the little moments of friendship and trust over the years can lead to something much bigger.
As I look back over this first year of writing, I am proud that …
God has been present in every article.
My mom gave me a Bible verse years ago that has stuck with me ever since:
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” — Proverbs 16:9
Looking back now, I can see that verse all over this past year.
I had my plans.
God had better ones.
