Al “Mo” Almarzouqi, 54, passed away on June 19th, 2026. Known to many in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina as a beloved local fisherman, he split his time between Myrtle Beach and Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where he owned and operated several small businesses. Al loved his family, friends, mushroom hunting, the ocean, and fishing. He loved adventures of every kind. He could fix almost everything; it may not have always looked the best, but it was functional. Previously a PADI Scuba instructor, Al shared his love of the ocean with everyone and anyone who wanted to learn. He set up saltwater aquariums in local high schools and donated marine life books to the libraries to help educate students about saltwater fish and corals. He also started the group NCPARS as a resource for educating its members, as well as the public, about effective ways to care for and propagate coral.
Al was self–employed and sold many personalized gifts over the years. During that time, he met so many people that he would always call his friends. He treated everyone with kindness that was genuine. People loved his quick wit and sense of humor, but his kindness made him stand out as a great person to all.
He was proud of his family and always told them he loved them. He enjoyed spending time with them regardless of what everyone was doing. Al is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn, of Williamsport, PA and his children, Kristen (Todd) Patterson of Maui, HI; Adam (Kelcee) Almarzouqi of Williamsport, PA; Joshua Almarzouqi of Williamsport,PA. He was also the proudest and best MoMo to his grandchildren Aila and Nolan.
Al had a facebook post that said “Good morning my beautiful friends! Life is short, so enjoy every day. Those who are gone are never forgotten – memories of them come our way all the time. Life is short!”
Al made the world a better place. In his honor, please be kind to everyone – kindness matters. Tell people you love them, hug them, have adventures, and lastly make sure you have a Coors light for him.
Services will be held at a later date.
