Ruth F. Bassler, 98

Ruth F. Bassler, 98, resident of Loyalsock Twp. died peacefully at home Tuesday, January 30th, 2018 surrounded by her family.  Her Husband of 40 years, Robert L. Bassler died in 1984.

Born November 12th, 1919 in Camden, NJ she was a daughter of Clarence J. and Irene Resh Flayhart.

She was a member of Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church since 1953 and served as secretary there for many years.

A 1938 graduate of Williamsport High School, she was also a secretary for the Pennsylvania Railroad during the war.

Surviving are three sons; Robert L. Jr. (Anne) of Easton, Donald with whom she lived and David of Twin Falls, Idaho; four grandchildren; Robert (Shawna) of Grand Junction, CO, Amanda (Nathan Perrine), Joseph (Kristen) Twin Falls and Brianne of Bethlehem; eleven great grandchildren; Ava, Jade, Aiyla, Alexis, Dareon, Ethan, EJ, Braydon, Zoey, Kambree, and Jack Burton.

She was predeceased by sisters Catherine and Doris and brothers, Warren, Webster, William and Clarence, Jr.; and a daughter in law Barbara.

Her youngest sister and helpmate, Lois E. Lilly of this city survives.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 2nd in the church at 1:00 p.m., 1301 Clayton Ave with her Pastor, Rev. Anthony Brima officiating.  Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held on Thursday at Kaufman Funeral Home & Cremation Services from 6 to 8 p. m. and on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until time of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church.
