James E. Eiswerth, 69

James E. Eiswerth, 69, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018. Jim was the dear son of Evelyn (Eck) and the late Joseph F. Eiswerth; the loving husband of Barbara (Suckling) for 37 years; the devoted father of Christina (Mike) Lyons and Edward Eiswerth; and the son-in-law of Marguerite and the late Roy Suckling. He was the brother of Wayne, Elaine (Keith) Harvey and Delores, of Williamsport; Gary, of Linden; Marilyn (Michael) Leonard, of State College; and Bernard (Elizabeth), of Montgomery, Ala. He also has many nieces and nephews surviving him.

Jim was born on April 5, 1949, and grew up in Williamsport. He graduated from Williamsport High School, class of ’67. He acquired his undergraduate degree from Penn State and later received his master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering of the U. of Cincinnati. From there he worked at General Electric Aviation for 38 years.

After retirement in 2009, Jim enjoyed cooking, walking his four-legged friend, “Brutus,” and became a self-appointed manager of the family NCAA Final Four brackets.

A Funeral Mass will be held in Jim’s honor at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 in St. Boniface Church, 326 Washington Blvd., with the Rev. William Corcoran officiating. Burial will be held in St. Boniface Cemetery after the funeral.
