William R. “Woody” Woodford, 67, of Laporte, died Thursday, October 3, 2024, peacefully at his home. Woody married his soulmate, the former Sue Milheim, and cherished every moment together.

Born July 13, 1957, in Binghamton, Ny., he was a son of Regina (Sarnoski) Woodford, of Laporte, and the late William Woodford, Sr. He was a 1976 graduate of Windsor Central High School, Windsor, Ny. Woody was employed as a union carpenter in New York State. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling, and woodworking. When he was younger, he enjoyed spending time in the summer in Lopez with his family. Woody and Sue enjoyed watching football together. He was a loving husband, son, and brother.

Surviving in addition to his mother, Regina, and wife, Sue, is stepdaughter, Sierra Karge, of Snow Shoe; a grandson who Woody raised, Tyler Lovelady; two grandsons; one granddaughter; a sister, Andrea (George) Poff, of Hallstead; a brother-in-law, Roy Molesky, of Windsor, Ny.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Woody was preceded in death by a sister, Roxanne Woodford; and two brothers, Todd and Scott Woodford.

In keeping with Woody’s wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
