William H. Murphy Jr., 84, of Williamsport, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at the Williamsport Home.
William was the husband of the late Jacqueline A. Hassel Murphy, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.

William was born in Williamsport, on Feb. 8, 1934, and was the son of the late William H., Murphy Sr. and Minnie Bennett Murphy.

William served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Rhodes, during the Korean War. He worked at Tetley Tea for over 40 years as a lead mechanic. William was a member of Saint Joseph the Workers Parish. He enjoyed his time in the woods, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by a son Michael P. (Geneva) Murphy, of Williamsport; a sister Sally A. Barker, of Colo.; a daughter in-law, Darlene Murphy, of Hazelton; and a granddaughter, Bridget Murphy.

William was predeceased by his parents, his wife, a sister, Elizabeth Mothersbaugh, and by a grandson, Brandon Murphy.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at Saint Joseph Workers Parish, 702 West Fourth St., Williamsport, with Rev. Brian VanFossen officiating.
Interment will follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
