William H. “Billie” Aungst, 92

William H. “Billie” Aungst, 92, of Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 20, 2019 at home. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, Patricia A. (Bungo) Aungst on September 3, 2014.

Born November 2, 1926 in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Howard Danielle and Mary Elizabeth (Carter) Aungst.

Billie proudly served his country in United States Navy during World War II in the Korean War and was aboard multiple vessels during his 25 years of service. Following his time in the military he worked various jobs and later retired from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

He was a member of the Republican League, VFW Post # 7863 Duboistown, and the Polish Club. He adored football, playing cards, and good conversation with family and friends. Billie was a true Christian who enjoyed reading and studying the Bible.

Billie was a humble, generous man with a gentle and caring personality and loved his family and friends dearly.

Surviving are his daughters, Kimberly A. Muehlig Kohler, of Williamsport, Kelly M. Connors, of Greeley, CO., and Kristie J. Connors- Kinley (Chadwick), of Williamsport; four grandchildren, Leia, Nash, Alec, and Julia; and a sister, Jackie Bartholomew, of Bethlehem.

In addition to his wife and parents, Billie was preceded in death by his first wife, Ervalee Aungst, an infant brother, and a brother-in-law, Bart Bartholomew.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, October 25, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service on Friday at Sanders.
