William A. Geiser, 75, of Montoursville, died Monday, September 8, 2025, at his home.
Born July 17, 1950, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Gordon and Betty (Wise) Geiser. He and his wife, the former Joyce D. Steinbacher, celebrated 50 years of marriage on August 9, 2025.
Bill was a graduate of Montoursville High School, Class of 1968. Following his graduation, he served honorably in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Eugene Grafius American Legion Post 104, Montoursville and a former member of the Montoursville Fire Department.
Bill enjoyed hunting and spent many years coaching youth sports. These included John Bower Church Basketball, Little League baseball and softball, and junior high girls’ and boys’ basketball. He also was the JV and assistant varsity softball coach at Montoursville for several years. Bill served on the Montoursville Little League board of directors.
He was meticulous with the care and maintenance of his vehicles. Bill also took great pride in his lawn and spent hours maintaining it. He was an avid sports fan who loved the New York Yankees. His love for the Yankees developed as a child and continued throughout his life. He also loved Notre Dame football and UNC Basketball, heartily cheering for them through the years. Bill enjoyed the camaraderie with members of the Brickyard Mug Club where he developed many friendships.
Bill’s greatest joy was spending time with his children and their families. The arrival of his grandsons was so wonderful for him. Grandpa loved them so much and spending time with them meant everything to him.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a son, Aaron Geiser of Montoursville; twin daughters, Ashley (Christopher) Adomiak of Williamsport, and Alison (George) Landgrebe of Montoursville, and two grandsons, Gordon and Grant Landgrebe.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2025, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Rev. David C. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
