Wilhelmina E. Ulsamer, “Aunt Willie”, was called home to the Lord on January 3, 2026, just shy of her 96th birthday.
She lived a long, full life rooted in faith, family, and joy.
She was the daughter of the late Herman and Wilhelmina (Baier) Steinbacher.
Devoted mother of six, she was also a proud grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was her greatest blessing and she cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
She truly loved being together, playing cards, laughing and enjoying a good time, especially when the people she loved were close by.
Willie was a life long member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was an active member of the St. Ann’s Society and sang in the choir. She was a member of the Harmonia Club and a supporter of The Companions of Pauline of the Sisters of Christian Charity.
Her faith guided her life and shaped the ways she loved others. She believed in God, prayer and caring for those around her and she lived those beliefs every day through her kindness, generosity and steady presence.
Willie was known for her strong work ethic. She worked at Tony’s Deli for many years and did not retire until the remarkable age of 90. She took pride in her work and friendships she made there, always greeting others with warmth and a smile. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and family that will continue through the many generations she nurtured.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort knowing she is now at peace and reunited with the love of her life, Carl; two beloved sons, Joe and Carl E.; and son-in-law, Rocco Coraggio.
Surviving are her four children, Constance A. Engel (Joseph), Donna M. Ulsamer-Thomas (Hal), Cynthia M. Coraggio, and Theresa L. Knott (Sean); 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Dee Ulsamer; sister, Vivian Eck (Frank); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
In addition to her parents, husband, son and son-in-law, she was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 7th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 5973 Jacks Hollow Road, Williamsport. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6th at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Willie’s name to the Susquehanna Valley Chapter of Pennsylvanians for Human Life. Checks can be made payable to “SVC-PHL” and mailed to P.O. Box 144, Williamsport, PA 17703.
