Wayne Ray Hunter, resident of Nippenose Valley Village, passed away late Sunday night at the Gatehouse Hospice in Williamsport.

He was born in Bellefonte November 1, 1947, son of the late Herbert W. and Helen Duck Hunter, Jr.

He was a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran and received an Army Commendation Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross and Vietnam Campaign medal to name a few.

He retired from Penn Dot where he was a highway foreman.

He was a former member of the Jersey Shore American Legion Post #36, the Jersey Shore V.F.W. Post #5859, the Jersey Shore B.P.O.E. Lodge # 1057 and the LaBelle Vallee Masonic Lodge #232 of Jersey Shore.

His survivors include: one daughter Ashley Liddic (Jeff) of Jersey Shore, one granddaughter Halie Liddic, and one brother Craig Hunter (Kim) of Rauchtown.

He enjoyed his visits from his furry friends Millie and Cricket.

In keeping with Wayne’s wishes there will be no services at this time.

Family services will be held at a later date.
