Wanetta K. “Neady” Sockman, 76, of Renovo, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born May 13, 1949 in Renovo, she was the daughter of the late Ardell and Alice “Brickie” Perry Barner.
Neady was a 1967 graduate of Renovo High School.
On August 3, 1968 in Renovo, she married Clarry L. Sockman, who survives.
Throughout her life, she was employed at Piper Aircraft, Ransdorf Brothers and K & L Auto. Most importantly, she was a homemaker and cared for her family and friends.
Neady was a passionate fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and rarely missed watching their games. She enjoyed swimming, cooking and baking for her family and friends and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Clarry, she is survived by two daughters, Beth (Todd) Fantaskey of Warren and Susan (Jason) Bratton of Renovo; a brother, Kenneth “Huck” (Deb) Barner of Haneyville; three grandchildren: Tyler (Julie) Fantaskey, Collin (Kayla) Fantaskey and Ryan (Haley) Bratton; two great grandchildren: Hayes Fantaskey and Ryley Bratton; and two nephews, Kenny (Deb) and Kraig (Bobbi) Barner.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church of Renovo, 127 7th Street, Renovo, PA 17764 with Martha Sykes and Robert Perry officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bucktail Medical Center, c/o Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.
