Viola M. Wright, 86, of Cogan Station passed away surrounded by family on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Manor Care North. Surviving is her loving husband of 65 years, George S. Wright, whom she married on May 16, 1953.

Born February 9, 1932 in Bastress, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Hamm) Engel.

Viola’s life work included raising her four children, spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren and keeping a home filled with love. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, cooking and hosting holiday meals for her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her four children; Patricia (Randy) Persun of Lewisburg, Bonnie (Stanley) Mynczywor of Cogan Station, William (Connie) Wright of Auburn and Douglas (Sherry) Wright of Laurel, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Jason, Tammy, Becky, Megan, Sarah, Matt, Elizabeth, Aaron, and Samantha; ten great grandchildren, Haley, Kaylee, Brayden, Addison, Charley, Ben, Warren, Lilly, Bailey, and Tristian; a brother, Richard (Florence) Engel of Bastress and a sister Marian Louise Bernardi of Hershey; and several nieces and nephews.

Viola was preceded in death by 12 siblings.

A funeral service to honor the life of Viola will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
