Timothy J. Crotty, 83

Timothy J. Crotty, 83, of Montoursville, PA, passed away surrounded by his family on December 12, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna.

He was born January 30, 1938 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Joseph and Helen (Mailey) Crotty.

He graduated from Southside High School in Elmira, NY and Lafayette College in Easton, PA with a degree in engineering. Tim served three tours of duty in Vietnam with the 35th Infantry Regiment (The Cacti) retiring as a Major. He was the owner and president of Susquehanna Supply Company. The list of his honors and achievements were exceeded only by his philanthropic contributions, having served on multiple boards including Little League Baseball, Associated Pennsylvania Constructors, and the First Community Foundation Partnership.

Tim was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

He was predeceased by his parents, and brother, John Thomas Crotty.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Ruthanne Bender; children, Michele A. (Neal Millane) Stom of Branford, CT, Michael S. (Chong Mi) Plants of Cascade, PA, and Tristin A. Crotty of Hoboken, NJ; sister-in-law, Bonnie N. Crotty of Monmouth Beach, NJ, brother, Joseph J. Crotty, Jr. of Williamsville, NY; four grandchildren, Brochi (Rick) Mut, Hyon (Sara) Plants, Mary Stom, and R. Neal Stom; five great-grandchildren; and special nieces and nephews.

There will be a Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life at a later date.
