Thomas M. Galbraith, 81, joined his wife in heaven when he passed away peacefully Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the home of his daughter surrounded by family friends.
Tom was born in Monument, Pa on June 3, 1936, the son of the late Donald K. and Dorothy E. Lomison Galbraith. He was a 1954 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
On September 18, 1954, he married the former Norma P. Dunlap, whom preceded him in death December 25, 2007.
Following high school, Tom worked at Karnish Industries before working as a building contractor from 1968 to 1993. From 1984 until present, Tom and Norma were the owners and operators of Country Corners restaurant in Blanchard.
Tom was a past member of Faith Baptist Church of Blanchard. He was a current faithful member of Trinity Reformed Church of Hublersburg where he also attended bible study.
He was an avid hunter and charter member of Dishpan Hollow Camp & cherished the many years he had there with his friends and family. He enjoyed woodworking and reading, especially his bible. Tom also loved traveling to various places with his wife in their motorhome.
He is survived by two daughters, Crystal (Alan) Haagen of Snydertown and Cheryl (Tom) Myers of Lock Haven; a son, Daniel (Cathy) Galbraith of Dover, OH; a sister, Carol Houck of OH; two brothers, David (Rory) Galbraith of Lock Haven and Joseph Galbraith of Pleasant Gap; six grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dearest friend, Shirley Rinker of Mill Hall.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles “Bill” Galbraith.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745 with Rev. Keith Koch and Rev. Troy Kerstetter officiating. Burial will follow at Romola Cemetery, Howard, Pa.
Friends and family will be received at the church on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Trinity Reformed Church of Hublersburg.
