Thomas J. Cusick, 48, died after surgical complications on March 3, 2018, in Williamsport.
Tom is survived by his wife of 17 years, Michelle Andrews Cusick of McElhattan; his parents, Tom and Betty Cusick of Northampton; his brother, Rick (Laura) Cusick of Alpharetta, Ga; his sister, Donna (Bob) Mondschein of Northampton; and his Godsons, Ryan Mondschein, Greg and Garrett Andrews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ken Cusick of Graham, Wa.
Tom was a National Honors Society member, Sea Cadet, and a 1987 graduate of Northampton High School. He later graduated from PSU in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He remained an avid PSU football fan and a Steelers fan.
Tom was a great family man and a loving uncle to 6 nephews and 2 nieces as well as an “uncle” to so many of his friends’ children.
Tom was a social, active man who was deeply involved as a Past Master in Labelle Vallee Masonic Lodge #232 and participated in all their meetings and public charity events. He particularly enjoyed volunteering at Little League World Series with his lodge. He was also a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Williamsport, the Lafayette Royal Arch Chapter #163, Lock Haven, and Hospitaller Cammandery #46 Knights Templar, Lock Haven. He was a proud and active Mason that enjoyed his many friendships with his Brothers. You guys meant so very much to him.
He enjoyed the many activities on his homestead. They included beekeeping, raising fruits, veggies, flowers, herbs, chickens and rabbits. He liked camping with friends and family. He enjoyed mountain rides, classic rock, fishing, canoeing, geocaching, craft beers, and Chinese food. He really enjoyed living an adventure filled life.
His family and friends will always remember him as a giving person that was the first to volunteer to help anyone in need. He will also be remembered for his fun-loving ways and his goofy sense of humor. His constant devotion to his wife and the life they were building together was evident to all.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at the Masonic Temple, 201 S. Main St., Jersey Shore with William Dole, Jr. officiating. A reception will follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tom’s life.
The family would like to thank the many friends that have reached out to share their wonderful memories of Tom. It’s been comforting to know that he touched so many lives. Tom continues to change lives through his organ and tissue donations.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up through the funeral home and checks may be made payable to the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745.
