Thomas F. Weaver, 77

Thomas F. Weaver, 77, of Lock Haven was called to heaven on Monday, November 24, 2025 at home with family beside him.

He was born October 25, 1948 at the old Teah Hospital in Lock Haven to the late Maurice and Fontella (Majors) Weaver, becoming the middle son in life.

Tom was preceded in death not only by his parents but also his older brother, Robert “Bob” Weaver and uncle, Jim Majors.

On April 23, 1977, he married his one and only love, Rebecca J. Heckel, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.

Tom attended St. Agnes School for elementary through 8th grade. He proceeded to further his education at Lock Haven High School, graduating in 1966. He spent one year at Lock Haven State College but discontinued due to the Vietnam War.

Having enlisted in the U.S. Navy, he completed Teletype Maintenance Model 28 A.S.R. in January 1969. Tom was assigned duty on the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. America and CVW-8 Attack Air Wing Eight. On board, his posting was an Electronic Warfare Technician, stationed in Morocco, Vietnam and several Middle East and Mediterranean Sea countries. He was honorably discharged in July 1974, having earned the rank of Petty Officer 3. He then returned home to Lock Haven.

Tom was a caring but quiet man, loving his wife, children and the outdoors.

He held various jobs with his first being Clark Printing and as an adult, helping his brother, Bill, install carpet. He was then hired at Piper Aircraft in parts scheduling, remaining there until its closure in 1984. He then worked at Taylor Aircraft, Lock Haven until eventually being hired by Haven Homes, Inc., Beech Creek. Many times, he commented on how enjoyable the job of pricing homes was for a great company. His wife often heard many funny stories of the office gang.

In his younger years, Tom played tag football for the Town Tavern. He enjoyed the outdoors- especially fishing, cutting wood and hunting with his brother-in-law, John Heckel, III. His greatest enjoyment, though, was gardening various vegetables, even introducing new ones for his family to try. Tom was also a wonderful cook. He made several trips with his wife and daughter to Yellowstone National Park which was a highlight.

In addition to his wife, Rebecca Weaver, he is survived by two children, John Weaver and Jennifer Weaver, both of Lock Haven; a brother, William “Bill” (Becky) Weaver of Jersey Shore; and in-laws, Kathie (Gerald) Slenker of York and John W. (Ellie) Heckel of Mt. Holly Springs and Susan (Frank) Jones of Lock Haven; as well as several nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and great, great nephews.
