After a courageous fight battling uterine cancer, Tammy M. Sayman, 52, of Montgomery, gained her angel wings on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born on July 8, 1973, in Williamsport. She was a daughter of Randle and Shelby (Schweikle) Sayman. Tammy was a 1991 graduate of Montgomery Area High School as well as a graduate of the Williamsport School of Commerce with a degree in Business. Over the years she had been employed at JPM in Lewisburg, Spring Window Fashions in Montgomery, and most recently Construction Specialties in Hughesville where she was a customer service representative.
Tammy loved all animals and had been a volunteer for LAPS. She rescued many cats, turtles, and ducks from many areas. She especially loved the beach in Ocean City Maryland and dinner at Phillip’s Restaurant eating seafood, her favorite being blue crabs. Tammy enjoyed ceramics where she made many life-long friends. She was a fan of professional wrestling and loved attending matches with her friends. Her favorite wrestler was Sting, who she met in person. Tammy loved going to see her favorite bands and attended many concerts with her sister and friends. Anyone who knew Tammy knew she had a kind heart and would help anyone or any animal in need. She especially adored her niece, Sarah, as they did many things together.
Surviving in addition to her parents, Randle and Shelby, is a sister Tina (Ryan) Leighow of Danville, a niece Sarah Leighow also of Danville, and her dog Greta who she rescued from the Danville SPCA.
Tammy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Hester Blakely and Paul Schweikle Jr, her paternal grandparents, Randle and Margaret Sayman; and the many rescued animals she had.
In honoring Tammy’s wishes, there will be no public viewing. A celebration of Tammy’s life will be held at a time to be announced at the Washington Township Fire Hall, Elimsport Road. Later the family will scatter her ashes at the ocean.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ashburn’s Animals, 291 Scrubby Hill Road, Selinsgrove, PA 17870, or to Danville SPCA, 1467 Bloom Road, Danville, PA 17821.
