Susan A. Bird, formerly of 9079 Route 87, Williamsport, passed away on Oct. 27, 2019. She was born March 28, 1939, to Elizabeth Maley O’Donnell.

Susan (Sue) was an active member of the Calvary Church of the Nazarene on Lycoming Creek Road where she and her husband were recognized for their volunteer work both in and outside of the church. She also was an auxiliary member of the Plunketts Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Following employment in the electronics division at Sylvania, she and her husband owned and operated Dick’s Upholstery Shop. Sue managed the small attached convenience store and gas station, The Bird’s Nest.

Sue was predeceased by her husband, Dick, to whom she was married 53 years.

She was a dedicated mother of four children: Kimberly A. Mitchell (Christopher), of Bermuda, Deborah L. Ottenmiller (George), of Montoursville, Richard W. Bird II (Deborah), of Williamsport, and Crystal Sue Kilby (Kevin), of South Williamsport. Six grandchildren also survive her including Zachary J. Mitchell, of Bermuda, William C., Christopher A. and Joseph R. Bird, of Williamsport, Josiah P. and Libby A. Kilby, of South Williamsport. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives whom she loved very much.

Sue was preceded in death by her brother, Paul J. O’Donnell, and Sister Mary Enda O’Donnell I.H.M.

Family and friends visitation will be at Third Street United Methodist Church, 931 E. Third St., Williamsport, 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1.

A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., at the church with internment at Wildwood Cemetery. Luncheon to follow in the fellowship hall.
