Sonja Ann Barner, 51, of Woolrich passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
Born June 10, 1970, she was the daughter of Michael B. Rich, III and Jolene (Shay) Rich.
Sonja was a 1988 graduate of Lock Haven High School. She attended Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts, earning her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
She was employed as a Physical Therapist at Susque View Home, Lock Haven.
Sonja enjoyed reading and traveling. She also loved riding horses at Horses of Hope.
In addition to her parents, Michael and Jolene Rich, III of Woolrich, she is survived by a son, Park Barner, IV of Woolrich; a step-daughter, Trista Barner of Lock Haven; a granddaughter, Ava Jade Smoker; her mother-in-law, Charlyn Barner of Lock Haven; and her sister-in-law, Tammy Rich of Mill Hall.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Rich, IV.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.
Memorial contributions in Sonja’s name may be made to Horses of Hope through the funeral home.
