Sharon Rene K. Bender, 71, of Fairfield Township, died September 22, 2019 with her husband and daughter at her side, at the Gatehouse, and is at peace.
She was born February 5, 1948, in Williamsport, a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth J. (Keiser) Kuhns.
Sharon retired from the former Bell Telephone and was a member of the Bell Pioneers. She was a member of Gen. John J. Burrows Historical Society, and thoroughly enjoyed her roses and cats.
Surviving is her husband, Stephen J. Bender; a daughter, Michelle L. (Jason) Metzger, of Plunketts Creek Township; a granddaughter, Emerson Rane Metzger; and many stepchildren and step grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Friday, September 27, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville, with Pastor Connie A. Waugh officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Barbours Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
