Ruth E. Poust, of Unityville, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Wolf Run Village, Hughesville. Ruth was the wife of Franklin A. Poust, Sr., and were married in 1958 and shared 64 years of marriage together until his passing on August 26, 2022.

Born March 3, 1940, in Bloomsburg, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Edna (Everett) Temple. She graduated from Hughesville High School in 1958. Ruth was a member of St. Mark’s Church of Lairdsville, and a former member of Salem United Methodist Church, and Picture Rocks United Methodist Church. She worked at Montgomery Mills, Sylvania Muncy, Muncy Valley Hospital, and Lycoming College. She was a member and past President of the Canusarago Grange #27, and a longtime member of the HHS Alumni Committee.

Ruth is survived by her children; Susan (J. B.) Mullen of Dushore, Franklin (Sherry) Poust, Jr. of Lewisburg, K. Wayne (Shari) Poust of Montoursville, and David (Robin) Poust of Stevensville, Md.; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Poust of Hughesville; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and a sister Mary Gray of Hughesville.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by a son, Steven Poust in 2012, and her brother Guy Temple.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water Street, Hughesville, with Pastor Dave Harman officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery, Unityville. Friends may call on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to be made to St. Mark’s Church of Lairdsville 6456 State Rt. 118, Lairdsville, PA, 17742-0095.
