Russell Frank Neff, 83

Russell Frank Neff, 83, of Lock Haven, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Haven Place, Lock Haven.

Born in Salona on April 29, 1937, Russell was the son of the late Harold E. and Harriet Boob Neff.

On August 19, 1959 in Winchester, VA, he married the former Barbara L. Fogleman, who preceded him in death on July 4, 2019 after 60 years of marriage.

He served our nation during the Cuban Missile Crisis for 12 years as a soldier in the Army National Guard.

Russell was proud to provide for his family. He began his working career at the Lock Haven Chair Factory before a long career at Textron Lycoming where he retired from. Following retirement, he worked for the Lock Haven City Streets Department, Piper Aircraft, the Lock Haven Catholic School, BiLo Grocery and delivered newspapers to rural customers of the Express. He also was an avid woodworker and sold many of his creations locally.

Beyond woodworking and crafting, Russell enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a sports fan, especially of the Penn State Football and Pittsburgh Pirates baseball teams.

He is survived by two children, Steven R. (Frances) Neff of Salona and Karen M. (Richard) Rudock of Mechanicsburg; two sisters, Kathryn Tolbert of Lock Haven and Margaret “Peggy” (Carl) Mumbauer of S. Williamsport; three grandchildren, Rick (Ashley) Rudock, Katherine Rudock and Zachary Neff; and a great granddaughter, Charlotte Mae Rudock.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by five siblings: Nancy, Ralph, Robert, Charles and Kenneth Neff.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mackeyville Road, Mill Hall, PA 17751 with Rev. Mark Riley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the American Heart Association.
