Ronald William Williamson
June 18, 1937- February 8, 2020
Ronald W. Williamson, born on June 18, 1937, in Belfast, a son of late William and Dorothy (Siegfried) Williamson.
Ronald was employed by Western Union as a teletype technician for over 25 years. He was also a proprietor of The Wagon Wheel Bar, Motel, and Restaurant in Montoursville, with his late wife, Martha “Marty” Knight-Williamson, for over 25 years. Ronald continued to work up until the age of 80 for a courier service. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran. Ronald was known for his joyous outlook on life. With God’s grace and guidance, he overcame life’s many challenges with a smile on his face. The kindness and resiliency Ronald displayed will forever be etched into the hearts of all that he crossed paths with.
Surviving him are his daughter, Dianne Stroble, Colonel, USAF, Nurse Corps, and her husband, Gary Stroble, and grandchildren, Ty, Hunter, and Laci; stepson, Kevin Stump and his wife, Rebecca, and grandchild, Sydnee; stepson, Dereke Stump; sister, Clara Williamson; brothers Gary Williamson and Dean Williamson; and many nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his late brother, Dennis Williamson and good friend, Carl Treese.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 15, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville, with grandson, Ty Stroble officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park with military honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County Honor Guard. Family and friends will be received from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, February 14, at the funeral home.
