Rodger W. Lupold, 85, of Hughesville, PA, died on April 4, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lois K. (Girton) Lupold and were married on August 24, 1957, celebrating 67 years of marriage.
Born November 5, 1939, in Muncy, PA, he was a son of the late George H. and Wanda Mae (Voneida) Lupold. Rodger was a 1957 graduate of Muncy High School. He began working for Bryfogles Nursery of Muncy. After becoming certified as a welder at Williamsport Area Community College, he became a welder at Young Industries of Muncy. He also worked at J&L Wire Rope of Muncy, Litton Industries, Inc., and returned to Young’s, retiring in 2004 as a welding fabrication supervisor. Rodger was a member of the Beacon United Methodist Church, Hughesville. He was active in the community and bowled in a league at Cloverleaf Lanes where he had been a pin setter during high school. For many years he umpired local softball games. He also enjoyed hunting, occasional fishing, woodworking, and extensive gardening.
Surviving in addition to his wife Lois, are two sons, Anthony (Sara) Lupold of Missouri City, TX, and Timothy (Lisa) Lupold of York Springs, PA; five grandchildren, Nathan Lupold, Colin Lupold, Aubrey Edwards, Rachel Ayres, and Daniel Lupold; six great grandchildren; a brother Sherman (Sandy) Lupold of Bel Air, MD; a sister, Janice Oden of Muncy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Rodger was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and George Lupold; and two sisters, Carrie Ann Sieg and Joyce Klusman.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Beacon United Methodist Church, 146 S. Main Street, Hughesville, with officiate Pastor Kevin St. Martin. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. A light luncheon will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made in Rodger’s name to the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 53, Hughesville, PA 17737.
