Robert J. Haefner Sr., 78

Robert J. Haefner Sr., 78, of South Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

Bob was born in Williamsport on July 14, 1946, the son of the late Norbert J. and Erma M. (Riddell) Haefner.

He was a 1964 graduate of Williamsport High School. From January of 1965 until October of 1968 he served in the U.S. Air Force. Bob had been employed at the former Suscom Cable Co. now Comcast Cable as a lineman and an installer. He was an active at Hillview Baptist Church and was a member of American Legion, Garrett Cochran Post # 1.

An outdoorsman, when he was younger, he enjoyed hunting and reloading his own shells, he enjoyed hiking, exploring the relics of ghost towns and discovering artifacts with his metal detector. He was also a Ham Radio enthusiast.

Surviving are three sons, Robert J. Haefner Jr. (Marie), Daniel J. Haefner (Stephanie Edner), John T. Haefner (Jennifer); seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Laura, Erica, Ryan Haefner, Andrew, Aaron Haefner, and James Haefner.

In addition to his parents, his sister, Anita Laudenslager (Jake) and a son, Luke J. Haefner all preceded him in death.

The family will receive family and friends at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. 3rd St., Williamsport on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m., a Funeral Services will follow at ay 1:00 p.m. with the Pastor Jamie Sanders officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions may be made in Roberts name to the Geisinger Health Foundation for the benefit of the Henry Cancer Center, 100N. Academy Ave., MC40-36, Danville, PA 17822.
