Robert E. “Mac” McMillan, 77, of Williamsport, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.
He was married to the late Claudia E. (Leaphart) in April 1972 until her death in 2014.
Robert was born in Williamsport on March 17, 1942 and was the son of the late Ossie and Avis (Washington) McMillan. He graduated from Williamsport High School where he ran track. He then attended Penn Tech and joined the US Airforce. Robert had worked for Bethlehem Steel and retired in the early 2000’s. He was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church where he was part of the senior choir and had attended Door Fellowship while he was at Rose View Center. Robert was a member of the Elks Lodge 207 and Pop Warner Football. He enjoyed singing, playing cards and was an avid politician.
Robert is survived by four sons; Michael A. Taylor (Rosemary), Darryl F. Taylor, Kevin S. Taylor (Nicole) and Richard E. “Richie” McMillan (Priscilla), all of Williamsport, five daughters; Diane T. Walker (Michael) of Etters, Valorie Taylor (Clyde, Sr.), Kim D. Hershey (Jeffrey), Michelle L. McMillan and Robin E. Evans, all of Williamsport, 27 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great great-granddaughter, one sister; Estelle McMillan of Brooklyn, NY and two sisters-in-law; Deborah Campbell and Maryetta Campbell, both of New York City. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son; Charles G. Taylor, one brother-in-law; Steven Campbell and one sister-in-law; Blanche Collins.
There will be a public viewing 10 – 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 West 4th St., Williamsport where the funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Matt Holcomb will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery with military honors.
