Robert E. Lane, 88, of Montoursville, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019, at his home.
He was born December 8, 1930, in Aaronsburg, PA, a son of Thomas B. and Mabel Fryer Lane.
He was the owner-operator of Russ Moyer Distributors and was a Korean War Veteran serving in the Air Force. He was a 50 year member of Eureka Lodge #335 F&AM and had served as past master, and also he was a member of the Williamsport Consistory where he received the Meritorious Service Award. He was a life member and past president of the Consolidated Sportsmen of Lycoming Co. and a member of the V.I.P.’s of Indian Park. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing solitaire, trap shooting, and reading.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Richard L. Lane and sister, Phyllis J. Parr.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years, the former Jane L. Tebbs; his children, Melody J. Shoemaker, of Leesport, Marsha J. (Ralph) Townsend, of Leesport; Michelle J. Lane, of Montoursville, Robert E. Lane II, of Montoursville; granddaughter, Kimberly J. Shoemaker; sister-in-law, Carol A. Beck and nephew, John H. Beck.
The funeral service will be held 11:15 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2019, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville with Chaplain Thomas Brokaw officiating. Interment will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday morning, at the funeral home where a Masonic service will be held at 11 a.m.
