Richard M. Converse, 75, of Tyler Lane, Cogan Station, passed away on March 17, 2025, he was born on October 8, 1949, in Montoursville, PA, to the late James M. and Dorothy M. (Baier) Converse. He was U.S. Air Force Vietnam Veteran; Richard served his country with honor before continuing a lifelong career in various industries. He worked at Montour Oil, spent many years working in construction as heavy equipment operator, and later retired as a truck driver from Bimbo Bakery.
Richard enjoyed making memories by videotaping his grandchildren and nieces and nephews at family events and holidays. He enjoyed moving dirt with his tractor and building or repairing heating equipment.
He is survived by his stepchildren Susan Crouse (Michael), Harvey and Dale (Christine) Crouse; his close nephews David (Mindy) Lundy and Luke (Cristy) Converse; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Paul (Camella) Converse, Mary Converse (Don) Fenderson, and Stephen (Ambica) Converse, along with many nieces and nephews.
Richard was predeceased by his siblings James L. Converse, George Robert Converse, SueEllen Converse (Clouser), Thomas J Converse, John D Converse, as well as his grandson Tyler Harvey and close nephew John R Lundy.
A memorial service will be held at a later time by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the John R Lundy Memorial Scholarship Fund at Jersey Shore State Bank in Rick’s memory.
