Richard E. Kerlin, 87, of Williamsport, died Friday, April 4, 2025, at his home. Born September 25, 1937, in Meiserville, PA, he was the son of the late Richard Miles Kerlin and the late Beatrice (Kerstetter) Troup.
Richard and his wife Judith married on January 24, 1981, and shared 44 wonderful years of marriage.
Richard graduated from Middleburg High School in 1956 where he lettered in basketball, soccer, and baseball. After graduation he entered the Marines from 1956-1961 and finished his hitch as a Sergeant, the last of the three stripers. He worked at various jobs until beginning in 1965 as a welder and then retiring in 2002 as a supervisor at CECO, later New Columbia Joist.
Richard was a fifty plus year member of Mifflinburg Lodge 370 of the Masons and past master in 1975. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, dancing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Richard is survived by his wife Judith A. Kerlin, of Williamsport; son, Michael (Judy) Kerlin, of Middleburg; daughters, Susan (Dean) Mull, of Middleburg, Leslie (Colin) Walter, of Shamokin Dam, Heather (Chad) Boyle, of Winfield; stepsons, Paul (Francine) Confer of Alburtis, Geoffrey (Cindy) Confer of Williamsport; half-brothers, Ken (predeceased); Robert and Wayne Kerlin; half-sisters, Rita Clark, Carol Ferguson, 7 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street Montoursville, with Pastor Martin Coffey officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
