Raquel Abbey Wright, age 32, of Williamsport, left this Earth, on Wednesday, December 21, 2023, surrounded by her loving parents, and the prayers of many.
Raquel was born on September 5, 1991, to James and Ellen Abbey Wright in Williamsport, PA. She graduated high school in 2009. She had a passion for basketball and loved when she played on the team for the Saint John Neumann Regional Academy. After high school, she remained close to her best friend, Morgan, and her family. Raquel always extended help to anyone in need, even up to her very last days. She treated people the way she would want to be treated. Raquel also loved music and loved to dance. She had a beautiful soul and a great sense of humor and wit.
Throughout her lifetime, she expressed a great love of animals, volunteering at the local SPCA and had many loving pets over the years, including her beloved “Eve.”
She adored her nieces and nephews. Especially Noah, Eliora, Ophira, Aiyana, Isaiah, and Lil G who were all close to her in age. They all grew up right alongside each other. Noah was like her brother, being just a couple months younger than her. Raquel was so proud of her big family.
Raquel will be deeply missed and is survived by her parents, James and Ellen Abbey Wright, brothers and sisters, Michelle Watts, Jessica Hunter (Jacob), Garreth Watts (Krishgen), Joshua Wright (Aine), Jennifer Best (Michael), nieces and nephews (Paissia, Reef, Shem, Xyla, Addisyn, Ashton, Keller, and Myla) and great nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Wayne and Aleatha Wright and her maternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Garreth Winston Abbey.
There will be a visitation for family and friends held at The Valley Inn banquet room located at 204 Valley Street in Duboistown on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 5-7.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the Lycoming County SPCA and/or the West Branch Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission.
