Phyllis G. Burdett, 90

Phyllis G. Burdett, 90, of Montoursville, formally of Lock Haven, died peacefully November 27, 2020.

Phyliss was born August 1, 1930 in Lock Haven Hospital to J. Dean and Helen Irene (Reese) Grier.

After growing up and graduating from Lock Haven High School, she continued her studies at Lock Haven Teacher’s College, where she graduated with a degree in elementary education.

On June 27, 1953, Phyllis married her college sweetheart, William O. Burdett. They were happily married for 55 years. They grew their family adding four daughters and a son, residing in Montoursville and Woolrich.

Phyllis is survived by five children, Denise Burdett, Terese (Scott) Starr, Michele (Gary) Oliver, Robin Burdett, and William (Eileen) Burdett. Grandchildren include, Matthew Biber, Jason (Mariella) Biber, Alicia (Greg) Starr, Kyle Starr, Kacie Oliver, Abbie Oliver, Carly Oliver, Katy Burdett, Jessie Burdett, Anna Burdett, and William Burdett II. There are also two great-grandchildren, Sebastian Biber and Joaquin Biber.

After retirement, Bill and Phil traveled in the motorhome to all fifty states many times with close friends. They explored both continental United States as well as traveled abroad.

With all her life experiences, the most important thing to Phyllis was her family. She was the mom to all the neighbor kids who adored and a role model to her own children to this day.

In her own words Phyllis wrote “I have had an awesome life, wonderful husband, terrific kids and grandchildren. I feel so fortunate.”

However, her family would like to add to that, “Mom, we were the fortunate ones to have you as our mother.”

There will be a private family Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 4, 2020 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 800 Mulberry St., Montoursville, PA 17754 with Celebrant Michael S. McCormick officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave FL 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements are being handled by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.
