Paul Stanley Schriner, 86

Paul Stanley Schriner, 86, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, November 28, 2025, at Hershey Medical Center. Born November 24, 1939, in Rose Valley, he was the son of Rollyn Schriner and Mabel (Lockard) Schriner. Paul married Shirley J. Hoover on September 26, 1964, and shared 61 years of marriage.

Paul and his wife Shirley shared a wonderful life. Paul was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. Paul is an Air Force veteran where he served four years as an Airman Second Class, in the Strategic Air Command. He served as a Team Leader on a Crash-Rescue Crew in Oscoda, MI. Paul retired from the Pennsylvania College of Technology as a Professor of Welding after nearly 40 years in the profession. He was very passionate about teaching this craft to his students over the years. Paul was a hunter. He was a founding member of the Lick Run Hunting Club and took his sons on an elk hunt in 2017. Paul was a life-long Lions’ member of the Warrensville Area Lions Club since 1972; having served at numerous officer positions at the local Club level and at Pennsylvania Lions State and Regional leadership positions. He served as District Governor, Pennsylvania Multiple District 14-G, in 1982-83. Paul received three Lion’s International President’s Awards; he was a Melvin Jones Fellow, a Pennsylvania Fellow, and a Joseph L. Wroblewski Fellow. Paul was also a member of the International Harvester Collectors of Central Pennsylvania, Chapter 17. Paul and Shirley traveled extensively; logging thousands of miles on their RV and in the end, seeing all 50 states. He was an active member of Eureka Lodge #335 F&AM and a member of American Legion Post 104. Paul loved to rebuild Farmall tractors, six in all. It was his favorite past-time.

Paul is survived by his wife Shirley Schriner; sons, Scott A. (Lisa) Schriner, of Camp Hill, Bruce E. (Joan) Schriner, of Severn, MD; sister, Beverly Blanke, of Rochester Hills, MI, 2 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by brother, Howard Schriner; sisters, Mary Wheeland, and Helen Gehr.

Funeral Service will be held at noon on Thursday, December 4, at Mill Creek Church, 2255 Warrensville Rd. Montoursville, with Rev. Dr. James R. Behrens officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 to noon on Thursday at the church.
