Nancy L. Hawley, a resident of Muncy, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born on June 21, 1938, in Lairdsville, Nancy was the daughter of Clifton and Hannah (Magargle) Fenstermaker.
After completing her education at Hughesville, Nancy embarked on her career in the workforce. In the summer of 1984, she married Donald Hawley Jr., and they built a fulfilling life together until his passing in 1994.
Nancy possessed a diverse range of talents, including gardening, bowling, completing word searches, mowing, and spending time with her family. She worked at Walden Sewing Factory, as a third-shift employee at Sylvania in Montoursville, while driving a school bus for Hughesville. Additionally, she and her late husband were owner/operator truck drivers and later worked at the local Sam’s Club.
Outside of her professional pursuits and hobbies, Nancy was an active member of several organizations, including the American Legion Post 564 in Millville, the Post 35 in Hughesville, Muncy VFW, Women’s Grotto Lodge of Williamsport, and the Muncy Valley Moose, where she was a lifetime member. During her younger years, Nancy taught outdoor cooking for 4-H. Nancy was also a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Lairdsville and Messiah Lutheran Church in Clarkstown.
She is survived by her three daughters, Kim (Dale) Ovelman of Danville, Tina (Elaine Schultz) Baylor of Lairdsville, and Jessica (Jeffrey Ranck) Hawley of Muncy; her son, Dr. Richard (Laura) Baylor of Coopersburg; her brother, Terry (Joan) Fenstermaker of Lairdsville; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Butler; her two sons, Donald “Pork” Baylor, Jr. and Michael Baylor; her two sisters, Betty Schriner and Francis Wells; her brother, Clinton Fenstermaker; and her grandchild.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Lairdsville Cemetery, located at 471 Cemetery Road in Muncy. The service will be officiated by Pastor Lucy Temple.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Hughesville.
