Merrill E. Reed, of Williamsport passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at WeCare of Loyalsock. Merrill was married on April 26, 1969 to the former Donna Harner and they celebrated 55 years together.

Merrill was born on February 29, 1948 in Williamsport and was a son of Allen and Alice Kinney Reed.

He attended Williamsport Schools and the former WACC. Merrill severed his county in the U. S. Marine Corp in Vietnam. He worked for C.A. Reed as a supervisor for several years and a supervisor at Carol Hockman Design, retiring in 2010. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker, American Legion Post 617, South Williamsport and VFW Post 7863, The Buck, Duboistown. He enjoyed traveling, his kids and grandchildren family and gardening

In addition to his wife, Donna, he is survived by two daughters, Brenda Reed, Williamsport, Rebecca Wilson, Williamsport; one brother, Allen (Tina) Reed, Trout Run; a sister Tammy Reed, and two grandchildren, Kyle Wilson and Kayla Wilson. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Reed and a sister, Patty Miller.

A celebration of Merrill’s life will be private.

The family will provide flowers and suggest memorial contributions in Merrill’s name be made to Lycoming SPCA, 2508 Reach Rd., Williamsport or to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or on line at stjude.org
