Melvin E. “Chip” Swisher, Jr., 56 of Hickory Road, Turbotville, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 11, 2020 at his home.

Born May 27, 1964 in Williamsport, he was the son of Melvin E. Swisher, Sr. of Unityville and the late Grace (Holmes) Swisher.

He was a 1982 graduate of Hughesville High School and was a self-employed farmer on Swish-Haven Farms. He was a member of FFA, 4-H and Farm Bureau.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baking, and canning, but most precious to him were the times he spent with his grandchildren.

Surviving besides his father are three daughters and sons-in-law: Tessie M. Savage and her husband Daniel of Milton; Brittany N. Ellison and her husband Luke of Jersey Shore; and Marisa L. Reeder and her husband Daniel of Jacksonville, NC; a son, M. Ammon Swisher and his wife Brittany of Trout Run; seven grandchildren: Noah, Eli, Jasper, Chase, Autumn, M. Ryland, and Cooper; his fiance, Melissa K. Miller of Turbotville; a brother, John William Swisher of Sarasota, FL; a sister, Cathy Sue Bomboy and her husband Keith of Unityville and two nephews, Kyle Bomboy of York and Chad Bomboy of Unityville.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 2 to 4 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at New Life Church, 1006 Village Road, Pennsdale where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 PM with the Rev. Robert Lauver officiating.
