Mary Lou Fredericks, 87, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully at home on September 2, 2025.
Born on January 13, 1938, in Williamsport she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Giacomi) Mileto, Mary Lou’s life was a testament to her enduring faith, her thoughtful nature, and her unwavering commitment to her family.
She was the loving wife of Charles E. “Chas” Fredericks, for 56 years, with whom she built a life filled with joy and laughter. Together, they raised a family that became her pride and joy.
Mary Lou was a devoted member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. She was an active supporter of her children’s activities through the school PTA and Band Association. If her kids were involved, she was right there alongside them, offering her time, energy, and encouragement. Known as the family’s cheerleader, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and relative who treasured babysitting the little ones and making sure no one ever went without. Whether it was slipping gas money, concession stand cash, or making sure every belly was full, Mary Lou’s generosity and care knew no bounds. She worked as an aide in the Williamsport School District for 19 years before retiring in 2013. In her retirement, she continued to share her warm smile and welcoming spirit as a familiar face at the family’s Mileto’s Sub Shop and Fredericks Tavern.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Kenneth Hunter, David Hunter, Rae Ann Pardoe (Brandon) all of Williamsport, Cindi Marsh (Robert) of Bellefonte, and Char Fredericks of Williamsport. Her legacy continued to blossom with the addition of 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild all of whom she adored. She was a beloved sister to Catherine “Dolly” Rolley and a treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Arlene Ardrey, a grandson Michael Ardrey, daughter-in-law, Kay Hunter; and her brother David Mileto.
A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Mary Lou will be held 10 a.m. Monday, September 8, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St. Williamsport. Burial will be held privately. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 7 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Williamsport.
