Mary Jane Lauver, 99, of Montoursville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 15, 2024, at We Care at Sycamore. She was born in Mt. Pleasant Mills, Pa. on June 29,1924, and was the oldest of the four children born to Arthur and Almera (Mengle) Ebright.
Mary Jane married Palmer R. Lauver on October 10, 1942 and shared 42 years of marriage. Mary Jane and her husband owned and operated the Lauver’s General Store for fourteen years in Mt. Pleasant Mills in Snyder county.
Mary Jane loved to play the piano and organ in her church and has played the piano for over sixty years. She sang and played at many special events, weddings, and funerals. She was a faithful active member of New Life Church in Pennsdale, pastored by her son, Rev. Robert Lauver.
Mary Jane is survived by; son, Robert A. (Sandra) Lauver, of Muncy; grandchildren, Tamela (Dave) Messenger, Tina (Nathan) Persing, Timothy (Ariel) Lauver, all of Muncy; great grandchildren, Levi, Zach, Alex Messenger, Selah, Micah Persing.
In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by husband, Palmer R. Lauver on October 16, 1984; siblings, Oletha, Ronald, and Shelva.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at New Life Church, 1006 Village Rd., Pennsdale, with her son, Rev. Robert Lauver officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty Thomas Funeral Home, Montoursville.
