Mary E. Tokarz, 95, of Montoursville, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019, at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit. Mary had been a resident there for the past several years. Mary was born in Export, PA on November 26, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Rose and John Oslosky.
Mary was retired from Thrift Drug Stores in Williamsport. Mary and her husband, Adam, were also owners and operators of the Tokarz Family Market at 1236 Broad Street, Montoursville, and operated the Eck’s produce stand in the Williamsport Farmers Market for several years.
Mary was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, the Montoursville Lioness Club, and the Montoursville Senior Citizens Organization.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam; five brothers, Albert, Andrew, Henry, Leonard, and Stanley Oslosky; and a sister, Marjorie Negich.
Surviving are her seven loving children, James (Barbara), of Auburn, PA, Roseanne (Timothy) Stroup, of Montoursville, Adam, Jr. “Bud” (Donna), of Harrisburg, Vincent (Susan), of North Granby, CT, Gerard (Donna), of Montoursville, Barbara Rishel, of Montoursville, and Bernadette (Jeffrey) Miller, of Williamsport; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Irene, Wanda, and Helen; three brothers, John, George, and Edward; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and loved to cook and entertain friends. One of Mary’s greatest joys was spending time with her family, friends, and grandchildren. Her legacy will carry on within our hearts and through all of our shared memories.
A viewing will be held from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, April 26, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville. Mass of Christian Burial will follow 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 100 Walnut Street, Montoursville, with Rev. Michael S. McCormick as celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery at the conclusion of services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
