Mary E. Brown, 99, of Montoursville, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Robert S. Brown.
Born Sept. 2, 1920, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret (Knauff) Dunlap.
Mary was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Canusarago Grange No. 27. She retired from Genetti Hotel after many years of employment. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, but most of all she loved and cherished spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her two daughters, Carol A. Prentiss, of Cogan Station, and Donna L. Kennedy, of Montoursville; seven grandchildren, Justin, Jennifer, Russ, Heather, Matt P., Matthew, and Jessica, and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Brown, two brothers and three sisters.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mary will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1730 Four Mile Drive, Williamsport, with the Rev. K. David Bixler officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the Williamsport Christian School, 1730 Four Mile Drive, Williamsport, PA 17701.
