Marlon L. Bennett, Sr., 90

Marlon L. Bennett, Sr., 90, of Montgomery, Pennsylvania died Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Williamsport Home.

Born May 28, 1933, in Montgomery, Pa., he was a son of the late Charles S. and Ella (Hill) Bennett. Marlon served as a Sergeant in the United States Army. He and his late wife, Ruth L. (Marshall) Bennett, who passed away on January 25, 2020, shared a wonderful 68 years together in life. Marlon was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed hunting in previous years, and most of all spending time with his family. He was previously employed for many years by Grumman-Olson in Montgomery.

He is survived by three children: Kenneth G. (Mary) Bennett, of Montgomery, Ronald E. Bennett, of Montgomery, and Charlotte A. (Michael) Murphy, of Allenwood; eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his late wife, Marlon was preceded in death by his son, Marlon L. Bennett, Jr.; a granddaughter, and one great-grandson. Marlon was the last survivor of six children in his immediate family.

Marlon will be laid to rest beside his wife privately in the St. John Lutheran “Brick Church” Cemetery, Montgomery. McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E Water St, Hughesville, PA 17737 is honored to be serving the Bennett family.
