Marjorie Beaver Blystone, of Nisbet, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Hillside Senior Living at the age of 95. Born on September 6, 1929, on her family’s farm in Millerstown, Pennsylvania, she is the daughter of Lewis E. and Margaret K. (Witmer) Beaver.
Marjorie spent her life alongside her beloved husband of 72 years, Paul R. Blystone, raising their family. She was a devoted and cherished mother to her children, Paul E. Blystone (Becky) of Great Falls, MT, Randall K. Blystone (Kathy) of Herndon, VA, Scott D. Blystone (Lisa) of Marcellus, NY, and Susan M. Shadle (Michael) of Jefferson, OH. Marjorie’s legacy continues through her 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Marjorie served her community as a lunch lady at Nisbet Elementary School and as an active member of Nisbet United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Audubon Society, the Daughters of the American evolution, the Lycoming County Historical Society, the Friends of the James V. Brown Library and was an avid reader. She and Paul loved to travel, and their adventures took them to every state, and across the globe.
Her love for nature was a way of life, enjoying bird watching, hiking and camping. Marjorie loved to grow garden vegetables and flowers. She collected seashells, rocks and minerals, and memories.
For more than thirty years, Marjorie dedicated her time as a volunteer at the Williamsport Hospital Cancer Unit, offering comfort and compassion to those facing difficult times. She also contributed her time and energy to the American Red Cross.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles E. Beaver, and her grandson Matthew Blystone. She leaves behind a family that will cherish her memory and a community that is grateful for her years of selfless service.
A private committal service will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
