Marilyn Rae (Confair) Garner, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on August 30, 2025, at the age of 75. Marilyn was born on November 29, 1949, in Jersey Shore to the late Raymond and Gladys (Halstead) Confair. Marilyn lived a life filled with love, dedication, and warmth.
Marilyn dedicated her professional career to Susquehanna Health Systems, now known as UPMC Williamsport, where she served as the Head of Admissions. Her work was a testament to her commitment to helping others and her unwavering professionalism.
Outside of her career, Marilyn found joy in simple pleasures. She enjoyed singing, dancing, scrapbooking, solving puzzles, and painting by numbers. Among her greatest joys were the visits to her sisters in Washington and the treasured moments spent with her beloved grandchildren and her loyal dog, Lucy.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents and her dear sister, Jolene Amend. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her memory close: her devoted husband, Terry L. Garner; her sons, Douglas (Erin) Garner and Michael Garner; her daughter, Lisa (Tom) Styers; her five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Ronald (Carolyn) Confair; and her sister, Donna (Lee) Henderson.
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 6:00-9:00pm at the Jersey Shore Elks Lodge #1057, where family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life beautifully lived.
