Marietta G. Johnson, age 97 of Hepburn Township, died Thursday, September 15, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.
Born April 7, 1925 in Gamble Township, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Rheta (Sellers) Stroble. Marietta was a member of Balls Mills United Methodist Church where she was very active. She loved baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving is a son, Craig A. (Sherry) Johnson of Cogan Station; two granddaughters, Nicole (Nathan) Confer, Danielle (Haley Brown) Johnson; and two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Landon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin E. Johnson in 2011, sisters Marie, Shirley Crouse, and brothers Laverne and Nile Stroble, and a step-brother Robert Sellers.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 11 A.M. in Balls Mills United Methodist Church, 5941 Bloomingrove Road, Cogan Station, 17728, with her pastor Jackie Condon officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 A.M. at the church, prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made in Marietta’s name to the Balls Mills United Methodist Church, or to the UPMC Susquehanna Home Hospice, Susquehanna Health Foundation, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
