Madonna Elaine “Donna” Heckel, 79

Madonna Elaine “Donna” Heckel, 79, of Mill Hall, passed away at home on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

Born December 9, 1946 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred Jeirles Dauberman.

Donna was a 1965 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School.

On July 12, 1968 at St. Luke’s Church of Christ, Lock Haven, she married Ray Thomas Heckel, who survives.

Donna worked as a cafeteria assistant for Keystone Central School District for many years.

She was a member of St. Luke’s Church of Christ, Lock Haven.

Donna found joy in the simple things in life. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Salona and Mill Hall Fire Companies and was an avid Crossword and Word Search player. Beyond all, she cherished the time she spent with her family and loved attending her grandson’s sporting events.

In addition to her husband, Donna is survived by her daughter, Heather N. (Dale “Tuffy”) Counsil of Mill Hall; four siblings, Ann Webner of Lock Haven, Sandy (Larry) Wian of Mackeyville and Bonnie Cucinella and Chuck (Cindy) Dauberman, both of North Carolina; two beloved grandsons, Alton and Cameron Counsil; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Vuocolo and Darlene Caprio.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2025 at 11 A.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745 with Pastor Scott Garman officiating.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and again on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the time of the service.

Private burial will take place at Highland Cemetery, Lock Haven.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Alzheimer’s Association.
