Louise A. Basile, 76

Louise A. Basile, 76, of Hughesville, died Sunday August 26, 2018, at UPMC Muncy Skilled Nursing. Born March 30, 1942, in Sayracuse, NY, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Eva Dorothy (Maroney) Vincent.

Louise was a 1960 graduate of St. Patrick’s School. She was a 1964 graduate of Lemoyne College and was employed as a New York Telephone operator and social service worker for Onondaga Co, NY. Louise began attending Maxwell School of Business at Syracuse University and later married Frank C. Basile in 1966, they celebrated 52 years of marriage.

Louise was a faithful companion of her husband Frank, they enjoyed moving throughout the country, living in Massachusetts, Oklahoma, and Washington until moving to Hughesville in 1980. Louise enjoyed travelling to Maine, vegetable, herb and flower gardening, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Buck Lumber Company and was an avid collector and dealer of antique linens in Eagles Mere. Louise was a long-time member of the Church of the Resurrection in Muncy.

Surviving in addition to her husband Frank, are a son, Matthew (Margaret Artley) Basile, of Bloomfield, NJ; a daughter, Mary K. Basile, of Muncy; a grandson, Frankie Basile, of Hewitt, NJ; two sisters, Katherine (John Brown) Vincent and Mary Ellen (Francis) DeFabbio, both of Syracuse, NY; and a brother, Jerry (Fran) Vincent of Syracuse, NY.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mia Frances Basile; and nephew, Michael DeFabbio; and a mother-in-law, Frances Basile.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, PA, 17756, with Rev. Glenn McCreary officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at the church.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions be made to the Church of the Resurrection.

Arrangements have been made and entrusted to the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Hughesville.
