Lee R. Kneller, Sr., 80, of New Albany died Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Highlands Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center after a courageous battle with failing health issues. Born June 10, 1944, in Towanda, he was a son of Cyrus and Myrtle (Fenton) Kneller.
On March 6, 1965 Lee married Elizabeth J. Rosser, who survives. Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage.
After retiring from GTP (Osram/Sylvania) Towanda, Lee kept himself busy. Even before Lee retired, he gave many volunteer hours to the Dushore Fire Company. Lee was a dedicated EMT for the Dushore Ambulance Association for many years until his declining health forced him to give up something he loved doing. It was his love for being busy that one would find him tinkering in his garage, cutting wood, mowing the yard, or brush-hogging the nearby fields. Lee loved being able to get on his tractors and doing something. Going for a ride on his side-by-side around the block was a favorite thing he loved to do and at times, that ride took longer when he ran into someone he knew and got to visiting with them. Lee always loved to talk with family and friends, and was devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Lee was very proud of his grandchildren and always had time for them and them for him. He was so excited to be able to meet and see his first great-grandchild be born. Lee loved spending time with Paul Lee, he was the “Apple” of great grandpa’s eye. Lee was always ready and willing to give anyone a helping hand, and will be greatly missed.
Lee is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth J. Kneller; sons, Lee R. (Denise) Kneller, Jr., of Towanda, Paul E. (Brenda) Kneller, of New Albany, Todd A. (Suellen) Kneller, of Stewartstown; sister, Marjorie Stringer, of York, PA; brother, Larry (Marilyn) Kneller, of Wyalusing; grandchildren, Arielle Kneller, Philip Kneller, Melody Kneller, Logan Kneller; great-grandson, Paul Lee Kneller.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by brothers, Sam and, Keith Kneller.
In keeping with Lee’s wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
